This hammock is 100% organic cotton, grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and defoliants.

The absence of artificial fertilizers and harsh pesticides protects our precious soils. Together with the alternating cultivation of organic cotton and other plants – also known as crop rotation – thisapproach contributes to the higher storage capacity of the soil and to comparatively low water consumption. Energy consumption is also significantly lower than in the production of conventional cotton.

Climate protection is an essential part of our sustainability strategy. Therefore, we continuously strive to reduce our CO₂ emissions. For the emissions we cannot avoid, we take responsibility by supporting a recognized climate protection project. Our partnership with ClimatePartner enables us to have both our hammock chairs and hammocks from Colombia, as well as our company, certified according to the highest climate protection standards.

There are numerous ways to hang your hammock: between two trees, two walls or two posts. Alternatively, you can use almost any combination thereof and hang your hammock between a tree and a post, for example. It is also possible to attach it overhead and use the ceiling as an anchor point for the suspension. The most important aspect is the load-bearing capacity of whatever suspension points you choose.

If none of these options are available to you, a hammock stand is a great choice. A sturdy hammock frame can be placed anywhere you want (so long as it fits) and can be repositioned at-will whenever necessary.

When attaching your hammock, you should pay close attention to the correct relationship between the distance and height of the suspension points: Thehanging height (y) should be approximately half of the hanging distance (x). If you increase the distance between suspension points, you should also increase their height.

If you follow these hints, the shape of your hammock will resemble a banana (or a smile!).

Additionally, be sure that your hammock swings freely and does not touch the ground. This will protect it from abrasion and keep it looking beautiful for a long time.

To fully enjoy the unique comfort of your hammock, you should position yourself diagonally. This way the lying surface can open completely and adapt to your body. Unlike lying lengthwise, your back is optimally supported and the pressure is relieved from your spine.

You can easily machine wash your hammock at 90 degrees Fahrenheit using the gentle cycle. Remember to tie the suspension cords together beforehand so they don't become tangled. After washing, you should air dry the hammock (tumble drying is not recommended).

The quality and comfort of a hammock is measured by the number of suspension cords. More cords results in better weight distribution, increasing the overall durability and comfort of the hammock.

The traditional plaits on hammocks from Colombia are considered a special quality feature. They are called Cadejos. Combined with a multitude of suspension cords they provide an optimum weight distribution, making the hammock extremely comfortable to lie in and improving its durability at the same time.

The distance necessary between the two suspension points can be determined by a simple rule of thumb: The suspension height (y) should be approximately one half of the suspension distance (x). If the distance between the suspension points is greater, the hammock must be mounted somewhat higher.

Hammock between two trees

Depending on the size of your hammock, the trees must be at least 3 meters apart and strong enough to bear the weight. In order to mount the hammock between two trees, a rope is looped around the tree trunk and attached to the hammock.

Hammock between two walls

Weight bearing and solid walls are suitable for mounting hammocks. The MultiSpot is especially simple and safe, distributing the weight over four drilled holes.

When you lay in the hammock diagonally, your body expands the surface area so the fabric does not constrict. In the diagonal position, there is optimal support of the back and pressure is removed from the spine. This position also makes rocking more pleasant.

This hammock can be machine-washed: delicate cycle 86 °F!

Bind the suspension cords together before washing to avoid tangling.

In order to preserve your product, line dry. Do not machine dry.

Ensure that your hammock swings freely and does not rub on the ground.

Cotton hammocks are susceptible when exposed to constant moisture. Therefore, take the hammock down in the evening to protect it from overnight dampness. Keep in mind that a hammock that has become damp needs adequate air circulation to dry.

We recommend cleaning and thoroughly drying the hammock before the winter season. After it is completely dried, store the hammock in plastic to protect from vermin.
